We LOVE Luv Lou! Tell us about how the brand started?

Luv Lou was born whilst sipping on almond lattes at a regular sisterly coffee date. We had both always dreamt of working together, creating something our friends and family would love to wear. Sunglasses seemed to be a regular purchase for us both and we soon knew we had a passion and love for eyewear and this was going to be the perfect fit for us. After what was a creative experiment, sampling a range, soon became a beautiful business which we now call Luv Lou. 

What process do you go through to create a new style?

Our creative process is always fun, we spool through Pinterest + old magazines for inspiration for new shapes and hundreds and hundreds of swatches to find the perfect acetate. Then it’s a lot of back and forth until we are happy with the style. 

Where do you get your inspiration from?

When planning our recent collection and designing we source inspiration from various surroundings, simply from trends that we are observing internationally during fashion week to pinterest and looking back at the past and vintage styles making a return. So much inspiration can also come from photography books, celebrities and reinventing classic timeless styles from iconic women of the past.

Describe the Luv Lou girl?

The Luv Lou Woman is inspired by our beloved Nanna Lou who was strong yet soft, poised yet spontaneous, both beautiful and divine. 

The brand has been spotted on some super A-list celebrities and influencers. Who has been your favourite to work with?

We love seeing Luv Lou on all girls, even spotting them in our local area on a walk still excites us. Our proudest moment would be seeing them on Kourtney Kardashian, Elsa Hosk and Vanessa Hudgens, it was a pinch ourself moment. 

What role do each of you take in the business?

I would say Hayley is more the brains side of the business and I am more the physical side of the business 

Have you experienced any challenges working together as sisters?

Hayley and I are honestly more like best friends, we speak everyday about every little thing. I can’t imagine running a business with anyone else. We both have our strengths in the business and trust each other completely when making business decisions. I think this is why we work so well together

What can we expect to see from the brand next?

Our new collection launching on November the 9th is inspired by the 70s, 80s and 90s. You will see new shapes and of course new tortoises. We have really aimed to ensure the quality is luxe whilst remaining affordable for our customers.
