Hannah Furst

We talk Dan, dating, skincare and life after lockdown with host of @singlemindedpod and Beauty IQ Uncensored Hannah Furst.

I’ve known you for a while now and you look amazing. What’s your secret?

Thank you! I put a lot of work into my skin that's for sure. I get regular skin treatments (chemical peels, skin needling, anti-wrinkle injections), plus I trial a lot of products through my work with Adore Beauty so my skincare routine is pretty insane. At least 6 steps morning and night. I think skincare is the best investment because even makeup looks 1000x better when you're skin is really smooth.

How’s your dating life going?

Obviously, COVID has made dating harder, but in some ways it's made me work harder to make dating fun. I did a lot of sober walking dates through lockdowns, and I feel like I've become really good at turning up as myself and trying to have fun despite the not-so-fun circumstances. Dating has been really good, I'm loving it. For me, dating is all about new (and mostly fleeting) connections where you constantly learn new things about yourself. But when you have an amazing first kiss, omg, it's just the best feeling! I have grown more in 18 months of lockdowns than in the last 33 years of my life, and I just know next year is going to be the best year of my life, including dating.

I am really excited to travel next year and have some romances overseas! I'm definitely not in a rush to settle down just yet.

How did you get the confidence to share your love life with the world?

I started getting feedback from Single Minded listeners and it was so heartwarming that I felt like the work I was doing was becoming more purpose-led. My dream in life is to make enough money to live by doing purpose-driven work. So there's no other choice really than to be open and honest with the community I'm building. It feels so icky being vulnerable online (especially when guys I date follow me on Instagram) but when I get DMs saying I've helped people with their confidence in dating, it makes it worth it.

Have you ever met Dan?

Haha... NO! But I heard from an Instagram follower that he watched one of my videos (not confirmed though).

What’s the first thing you are going to do out of lockdown?

I'm going to the pub on Friday with friends for dinner. I'm doing full glam - I don't even care if I look out of place! But the thing I'm most looking forward to is travelling. I want to put all my furniture into storage next year and head off on an adventure, where I'm back and forth from Melbourne, but spending a lot of my year exploring the world.

Your skin! Top fave three products?

Alpha H Power Peel (AHAs & retinol), SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF (vitamin C) & Ultra Violette Supreme Screen (SPF).

I love everything you wear! Where do you shop and where do you find your inspiration?

I actually buy a lot of my clothes from Bardot, Glassons, Sportsgirl, etc. I love the Glassons wide leg jeans - I don't really wear any other pants. They are so flattering! I buy a few investment pieces every year - a coat, a bag, earrings, and then mix and match with my cheaper clothes. You can always make a cheap outfit more fancy with the right accessories.

You’ve stopped drinking. Everyone else I know in Melbourne is drinking more. How do you feel?

I feel amazing. Literally, I have never felt healthier. I have so much energy. My brain is always switched on. The flow of life is never interrupted by a hangover. I buy really expensive alcohol free spirits that taste really similar, and so I still have the ritual of celebration.

Will you come and live with me in Byron Bay soon?

Hahaha - omg I'm definitely coming back when borders reopen - can't wait!!
